Uploading Council Minutes for viewing

Postby FlindersShire » Fri Mar 22, 2013 12:02 pm

Hi,
We would like to upload scans of our historical Council Meeting minutes for viewing in full by the public. Just wondering if this is possible on eHive? At present each set of minutes have been scanned as a single tif file. Ideally we'd like each full set available here to read, alongside of our historical photograph collection.

Any suggestions and advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Sam

Hi Sam,
eHive doesn't support multi-page tiffs. You will need to convert these into a image per page first. Multi-page tiffs are a problems for many software systems. My version of Photoshop doesn't support this, although newer versions might.

They can then be catalogued as a single object record (the Archives format would be the best) with multiple linked images. There are several software packages that can convert multi-page tiffs into individual images. One of these is ReaConverter: http://www.reaconverter.com/multipage-t ... rsion.html

Cheers,
Paul

Is there a limit to the number of images that can be attached to an individual record?

Thanks.

There isn't an upper limit. The largest number I have seen is 17 images for one object, but you can keep adding them as you need.
