PDF Label Report

Postby HFKAssn » Fri Jun 25, 2010 3:27 pm

When I view the PDF labels the second line, which shows the maker/creator of the item is preceded by a comma. Does this mean that a field is missing? Or is it an error? Its not possible to correct this before printing as it is a PDF. Thanks.

We'll check this. It sounds like a formatting error when eHive is generating the report.

The only case we could reproduce was when there was a Maker Role, but not corresponding Maker field. We can alter the logic to remove the preceding comma when Primary Creator/Maker is empty.

Note: the Primary Creator/Maker Role field would normally contain entries such as Artist, Photographer or Sculptor, while the Primary Creator/Maker field would contain the name of the artist.

Thank you Paul, yes I think it was an entry error as the Maker/Creator Role could be Author. Because the Maker/Creator is an organisation with a long name it would be useful to have a drop-down box (pick list) for efficient andd accurate entry of the maker/creators name. And it would be good to not have the comma appearing on the report when there is no data in the field prior. Thanks.
