Copyright disclaimer

Postby kaaren » Thu Mar 25, 2010 10:17 am

Hi
Does anyone have appropriate wording for a general copyright disclaimer for use in the eHive situation with published records ?

Hi Kaaren

Have you seen the eHive copyright disclaimer - small text at the bottom of each page on eHive:
It is the responsibility of the eHive Account Holder to gain copyright clearance for any images or content published on eHive. If you are concerned about the copyright status for any content in eHive or would like more information on using or ordering copies of content, please contact the Account Holder of that content. If you would like more information on our copyright policy, click here http://ehive.com/copyright-claims

Hi Kaaren,
Auckland Art Gallery have a small disclaimer before you enter their collections pages:
http://collection.aucklandartgallery.go ... ollection/

There would then be the question of where to put this. You could put it at the bottom of the About Our Collection text on your eHive museum public profile page or if you have a website for the museum, have a page on copyright on that site which you link to from your About Our Collection text.

Hi Fiona and Paul
Thanks for that.
We have not got our own website so will put it in the About Our Collection area.

We have entered about 70 items and we are keen to publish them but have to check the data and get the copyright disclaimer sorted first. Also I am thinking about giving our collection database a name suggestions welcome.

Titiromai Look at Me, was what we named our HB MUSEUM image database.

We are aiming for 200 by end of April which will meet the requirements of the one year free amount from Te Papa.

Is it OK to publish 200 items at once or is it better to do it in batches?
