Process for which fields are published

Postby kaaren » Thu Mar 11, 2010 3:13 pm

I have had a look in the help topics for info on this, but thought I would ask here:
Could we have a list of the fields that are available for the public to view, and how to pick which ones we want viewable if there is a choice option available to do this. We want to plan out our public published fields but to do this just need to know what we can choose from and the process. Thanks!

Hi Kaaren

The fields available for public view are in the Public Fields tab of the Create screen:

Object Number
Name/Title
Edition
Portfolio Title
Object Type
Maker
Maker Role
Date Made
Place Made
Description for website
Medium and Materials
Style and Iconography
Inscription and Marks
Technique
Measurements
Subject and Association
Collection
Credit Line
Tag
Images

If you leave a 'Public' field blank, the field will not display to the public. However, there is no option to make information entered in these fields private. The reasoning for this is that it's unlikely that this sort of basic cataloguing information would be confidential.

By the way, I hear that the project cataloguers have started work at Owaka - excellent news! Hello and welcome from the eHive team!
